The vision.
The Farm is a rural residence in Shoreham on the Mornington Peninsula, designed to live in step with the day. The owners wanted a home that read the weather rather than the calendar and woke gently with the light. They preferred a keypad on the wall to an app on the phone. The brief asked for the technology to feel like the house rather than a separate object inside it, with one consistent layer running through every room and outbuilding.
The experience.
Lighting scenes activate gently with the day, motorised shades open with the daylight, and climate adjusts to the outside weather without anyone asking. Whole-home audio runs as one sound environment across internal living, the outdoor entertaining areas and the pool, so a track in the kitchen carries through to the verandah without a break. Custom engraved keypads sit through the home in place of multiple apps, each one labelled for the way the family actually lives: morning, evening, music on, music off, away. A single Control4 backbone holds the lot together, with the app available when needed and otherwise out of the way. The house responds to weather, light and routine on its own. The keypad takes care of the rest.
