The vision.
Prince is a coastal weekender in Blairgowrie on the Mornington Peninsula, used as a retreat from city life. The owners drive down from Melbourne and wanted the residence to be ready before they walked in. The brief asked for remote control of lighting, climate and pool before arrival, keyless entry on the door, and a Wi-Fi network that handled streaming from the moment the bags hit the kitchen bench. The house had to do the welcoming.
The experience.
Pre-arrival remote control of lighting, climate and the pool holds the heart of the design, with the owners triggering the residence from the phone before they leave town: pool warming, climate on, lighting scenes coming up, the residence ready. Keyless entry handles arrivals and departures with no fuss, with no key to find and no code to remember when the car is full. Whole-home Wi-Fi covers the residence for streaming and any guest who turns up, run as one network from front door to back garden. One Control4 backbone holds it all, including the pool. The home is ready before they walk in. The bags go down, the kettle goes on, and the residence is already warm.
