The vision.
Casalinga Estate is a large coastal estate in Dromana on the Mornington Peninsula, built by experienced entertainers. The brief was the kind a studio learns from. Atmosphere had to follow guests from the forecourt to the pool. Lighting had to do real theatre at sunset. A dedicated rumpus had to host a Grand Final and a family billiards night without changing rooms. Scale had to be carried by a small number of controls, and the owners had to be free to host.
The experience.
Multi-zone audio extends from the arrival forecourt through internal living to the alfresco and the pool, with each area independent so guests move with the music rather than being announced. Scene lighting is designed for guest arrival and evening events, with the forecourt and gardens lifting as cars pull in and the alfresco shifting through dinner to the dancefloor. A dedicated rumpus pairs a large-format display and surround sound for sports, billiards and social use, with bar and table lighting on the same keypad. One Control4 backbone holds the estate together for the owners and steps back for the guests. A home that runs a party of two or a party of two hundred from the same keypad. The atmosphere arrives before the guests do.
